Bringing Good News

Our story begins in November 2006, in Jovellanos, Cuba, where God revealed his long since accomplished work in the lives of Pastors Jose Santiago & Kevin Jobe. From that time forward, we would walk together as family; in Christ and in flesh and blood. Ancient Path Ministries understands Jesus is our vision, our goal is to live into the his Kingdom calling.

To The Darkest Places

Late in 2010, God began to sow a new work. In a place where clashing strains of faith (be they godly or evil) mix into a thick and difficult spiritual stew, the Lord laid a new calling on the hearts of Jose and Yamy.

Jovellanos
Jovellanos

"Go to the darkest places. Go where light has been seemingly overcome. Go where the gospel has never flourished, where the spiritual forces of evil and darkness seem strongest. Go and take the light of Christ."

Prayer1

They did not need to look far. Their hometown was home to the country's worst spiritual strongholds. In awe and wonder that God would gift them such a calling, they gathered friends in January, 2011, set themselves to prayer, and marched forward.

Anointed to Bring Kingdom Light

They went armed with the promise of Kingdom God gave to the prophet Isaiah, and has declared fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

  • Good news, broken hearts healed, freedom and release from darkness

  • God's favor, vengeance, comfort, and provision

  • To displays of God's splendor

A New Name, An Old Identity

Within a few weeks, they were a church - La Iglesia Volviendo a la Senda Antigua (Church Returning to the Ancient Path). Within a few short months, they numbered over 150 and the race was on to find the financial support we needed from our friends in the US.

La Senda Antigua - Path of the Primitive Church

The church would be spurred on by Isaiah's words and the example of the church of the book of Acts, the people who changed the world with the Gospel, living and moving as one in the power of the Holy Spirit, growing the Kingdom of God.

Path1

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

- Acts 2:42-47

Light Conquers

By 2020 grew La Senda into the largest congregation in their town. Over 300 people are at work across the city of 55,000. They work building relationships, meeting physical and spiritual needs, and winning people to Christ. Strategically-placed Casas de Bendicion (Houses of Blessing) and Children's Ministry outposts now serve as city-wide entry ways by which people seeking Christ may connect to the mother church.

You Will Be My Witnesses

As Jesus sent the disciples out in the power of the Spirit, La Senda has carried and now fuels the light in the surrounding region. We are training up and sending out Pastors into an ever widening mission field, now including 14 mission sites outside of Jovellanos; in large cities, small towns, and often forgotten farm villages. Many of these places had never heard the Gospel before. La Senda has even begun crisis relief ministry to the far eastern end of the island in the wake of Hurricanes Matthew in 2016 and Irma in 2017.

To The Ends of The Earth

Out of the seed planted years back, has now grown Ancient Path Ministries, a US-based 501c3. Kevin and Tonni Jobe serve as Managing Directors alongside an Advisory Board from Ohio, Texas, New York, and Jovellanos.

APM represents another broadening of the mission. As we travel across our nations, we discover in every place we set our feet God has raised up brothers and sisters in Christ to go to the darkest places; people called out for His purposes. Bringing Good News. Connecting In Christ. Building the Kingdom.

As we witness to the ends of the earth, we connect to each other and to the movement of the Holy Spirit, bringing together the faithful in Christ across false boundaries of borders, distance, cultural setting, denomination, etc. We are only beginning to walk out this mission.

Kids

"With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ."

- Ephesians 1:9-10

People1

It is to this end that we work. Together, armed with the good news and anointed by the power of the Spirit, we are the workers who build the Kingdom of God on earth. We rebuild, renew, and restore that which has been lost in a sea of bad news, obscured by godless darkness. We bring good news, connect in Christ, build the Kingdom. We become La Iglesia Volviendo a La Senda Antigua. The Church Returning to the Ancient Path.
